Terms and Conditions of Player Membership to The Downs Netball Club Membership Membership to The Downs Netball Club is a privilege granted by The Downs committee where players are invited to join The Downs Netball Club after trials. It is not a right. The Downs Netball Club at its sole discretion reserves the right to accept or reject any trialist for membership. Membership to The Downs Netball Club means that a player agrees to abide by the Terms and Conditions of player membership. Senior membership to The Downs Netball Club includes all the training costs of hiring the courts, insurance. It also includes England Netball membership, match fees and costs for hiring courts for matches, equipment, umpires and competition entry costs. Academy player membership to The Downs Netball Club includes all the training costs of hiring the courts, insurance. It also includes England Netball membership, match fees and costs for hiring courts for matches, equipment, umpires and competition entry costs. Junior player membership to The Downs Netball Club includes all the training costs of hiring the courts, insurance and coaches. It also includes match fees and costs for hiring courts for matches, equipment, umpires and competition entry costs and coaches expenses om match day. Membership to The Downs Netball Club is annual and players are committed to join for the entire year irrespective of fitness and ability to play. Payment Terms Payment for membership to The Downs Netball Club is termed as “Affiliation Fee”. The Affiliation Fee is made on annual basis. Once the Affiliation Fee has been paid a player becomes a member of The Downs Netball Club. The annual Affiliation Fee must be paid by the 30th September or incur an increase of £5. If you are unable to pay your subs in full then please contact the club secretary for alternative arrangements. Please see contact tab for list of contacts on The Downs Netball Club website. Liability Neither The Downs Netball Club, its coaches, instructors, umpire nor members shall, in any circumstances whatsoever, be under any liability to the applicant for any loss, damage or injury (including death), whether accidental or otherwise, arising during, or resulting from participation in netball activities within the premises hired by The Downs Netball Club. Netball Netball advices all participants to take out their own personal liability insurance. Netball Netball do not take responsibility for events that are outside of their control. Data For the purposes of Data Protection, personal details of applicants are not disclosed to any third party without your permission or request not to do so. Data will be used by coaches or committee members for the purposes of communicating information relevant to a player’s needs and information about club activity. Photography Photographs will be taken of participants during the course of the season and used for promotional material. If a player or their parents have strong views about not having their daughter’s image publicised, they will make it clear by email to natalie.swift@downsnetballclub.co.uk Responsibility of a Player As a Downs member every player will commit to the following; • A Downs Netball Club member will conduct themselves with the highest standard of conduct and respect for all Downs members, to include coaches, umpires, scorers and other club members. • Work equally hard for themselves and the team; show determination and passion to learn and do well. • Display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat. • Attend all training dates and match fixtures as published on the fixture list. In the event you are injured or unable to attend please notify your coach as soon as possible. • Take responsibility to do your fitness programme and personal development work outside of training time, to include shooting practise for shooters. • Volunteer 2 days in the year for fund raising or helping with the junior section of the club. • Stay after matches to attend teas either with the opposition or at home. When at home show willing to help set up teas and clear away afterwards. In the event that I cannot comply or struggle to maintain my commitment as a player I will contact Head Coach, Natalie Swift in confidence. Responsibility of Parent To abide by the Code of Conduct of parents Kit All players will buy and own their own Downs Netball Club kit Duty of Care All Downs members who are U19 are able to access a duty of care officer by contacting Becky Mc Arthur.
